Born November 9, 1953 in Springfield, Ohio, he was a son of the late Robert Gale and Phyllis Jo Leis Roller.

At 25, Gale answered the call into ministry. He graduated from Warner Southern University in Lake Wales, Florida and pastored The First Church of God in Hartsville, SC for thirteen years.
