The Lady Hilltoppers proved that they indeed were for real this season in the 3A ranks, but nine more made free throws by Hickory sent R-S Central (25-3) home two rounds shy of a state title.

Listen To Life

Outdoor Truths
I recall my first trip to the turkey woods. I was blessed to be able to go with one of the local experts. I didn’t know what to expect, but that didn’t quell the excitement. As usual I got very little sleep the night before and was up early enough to make sure I wouldn’t be late for my appointment. We traveled about 50 minutes before arriving at the bottom of the mountain. My guide said “watch this” and he slammed the door of his truck. The response was immediate and memorable; a gobble from the top of the ridge and only about 300 yards away.
