The second annual “Dancing With The Stars” of Rutherford County at R-S Central High School turned out to be a great success. It is a fund raiser for the R-S Central SkillsUSA Section Two Club. The program supports the funding to take students to both state and national competition. SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers, and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA’s main goal is to help each student excel. Their motto is : “Preparing for leadership in the world of work.”
When we left off last week, all five high school teams that had made the state playoffs in Rutherford County had advanced into the second round. Later on in the week, R-S Central’s boys, Thomas Jefferson’s boys and the East Rutherford’s girls ended the season with second round loses on the road.
However, the R-S Central girls and the East Rutherford boys won rounds two and three, which places them into the Western Regionals in Greensboro this week. Only three more wins stand in the way of a title for those two remaining in postseason play.
Once again, the community comes together.

Someone did an experiment with two groups of golfers. Each group had a round of golf videotaped.
The video of the rounds was edited. The first group was shown video of their best shots—their longest drives, their most accurate iron shots and chips, their one-putts. The instructor conducting the experiment praised the golfers and told them to, “Go out there and play like this again.” And the golfers did. In fact, they went out and actually improved their scores.

Can I get an ARRRRGHHH from all of the pickup drivin’, gun toten’, camouflage wearin’ men in the house? There’s nothing like clean fun!
