Not much stands in the way of R-S Central (18-1, 9-0) girls basketball team from winning a conference title this season. They must win two of the next three games to earn it.
The Lady Hilltoppers took care of Chase and Freedom this past week.
If Central beats Patton as they are expected to do so this past Tuesday and then Shelby on Friday, then they will have won their first conference crown in 24 years!!!

Another Famous North Carolinian... Matthew Settle Actor
For good reason, the casserole dish is very popular. It can be a one dish meal, made ahead of time, or served with a salad will always satisfy the hungry family. The casserole is the best with a good steak or some pork chops. So, this week I’m going to the kitchen and make some great casserole dishes. These recipes are from across the county line. They are from the Buck Creek Baptist Church “Good Eats From Buck Creek” cookbook in Chesnee, South Carolina. A good neighbor with some good recipes I love to share.

How bright is your life?
The full moon was so bright earlier this month that it woke me up about four o’clock in the morning. Normally that doesn’t happen. But my wife and I had left the blinds open. Then, I rolled over on my right side, facing the window which I rarely do. I usually sleep on my stomach. Finally, the moon reached just the right position in the night sky so that its moonbeam was literally at the perfect angle to shine on me.

Growing up in a non hunting/fishing home may have kept me from taking for granted this great privilege. Today I’m more enthused about the outdoors than any other time in my life. There is still so much to learn about it all. My recent fishing trips have reminded me of this. There are very few fishermen who go after more than one or two species. Most bass fishermen are just that; bass fisherman. Whether it’s February or August, they are still pursuing that bass. Walleye fishermen are set on finding walleye. And the list goes on.
