As funny as it sounds, the little league pledge still means something to me. Apparently, the youth in our county have that same pride during this summer’s version of Little League All-Stars.
A total of ten Rutherford County teams qualified for the upcoming state championship rounds.
The Habitat for Humanity Restore needs your help! This is a bargain store which features everything for sale except clothing. It is one big bargain bonanza with items you can’t find elsewhere. Now, you should “heed the need!”. More items are desperately needed for this great charitable organization which does so much good for the people of Rutherford County.
Chesnee’s Buck Creek Baptist Church’s “Good Eats From Buck Creek” cookbook is so chock full of great recipes. I haven’t been able to put it down. I’m going to the kitchen with this cookbook in hand and making some great things to eat!

The long, hot, summer days are trying for those who love the outdoors. Fishing can only be tolerated very early or very late, and hunting is not even in the picture. These times of drought make us edgy and uneasy while we are waiting for better times.
Sometimes, it seems that we live in a pace of extremes. The action is either fast and furious, or slow and non-existent. There are no days that the hunting and fishing is so good that we go at it in a leisurely pace. No, there is no dimmer switch on our activities. We are either on or off.
