NASCAR is revving up this weekend for the Daytona 500. And with the old nose back on the cars, and a new surface to drive on--pairing up will be much more important this weekend than ever in the 500.

A friend recently invited me to his bookstore to meet another author who was doing a reading. I arrived a little late, and the room was pretty full. I looked for a seat, feeling a little awkward. Just then, I spotted my friend, who waved me over to a seat beside of him.

The fishermen around here are coming out of their hibernation. The walleye and crappie are ringing the dinner bell and the bass are getting more active as well. The stories will soon be plentiful. I hope the filets will as well.
