So, I know this was the week of Super Bowl parties and all, but we’ll touch on football in a bit.

The event begins at 9:30 and ends at 1:30. A delicious brunch buffet will be available during the event. Visit for a little while or stay the entire time.

This week I believe I’m going to do some “something out of the ordinary” recipes. These recipes will definitely break the winter hum-drum recipes. I’m headed for the kitchen and am going to get some new and exciting taste temptations from the “What’s Cooking at Tanner’s Grove” Second Edition cookbook. It seems everyone likes meatballs. However, we all think of Spaghetti and Meatballs. The first recipe I’m going to make is from TERESA SAMS. Here I go with her BARBECUE MEAT BALLS.
Another Famous North Carolinian... Ernie Barnes Artist, Actor, Author, Pro-Football Player
He was born in “the Jim Crow” era in “the bottom” community of Durham, North Carolina, on July 15, 1938 and named Ernest “Ernie” Eugene Barnes, Jr. His father worked as a shipping clerk at Liggett Myers Tobacco Company. His mother Fannie Mae Geer oversaw the household staff for prominent attorney Frank Fuller, Jr.

I remember from my childhood watching my grandmother make rolls. I was fascinated with the process of mixing the ingredients, kneading the dough in the big bread bowl, but most fascinating of all was when she pinched off the rolls from the dough and set them out to rise. It was almost like magic, watching the rolls rise before my very eyes.

Several years ago, it was not unusual to make one or two trips per week to wade the Cherokee Lake. Late winter always proved to hold enough of the bass variety to keep me fishing even in the most extreme conditions. These trips usually only lasted about half of the day and since I kept my equipment in my truck, I only needed a short notice and a good excuse.
